PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

For over 46 years the GVLA Board has worked to preserve and enhance the rural character of Green Valley. 2018 has been one of “follow-through” committee efforts on challenging long-term issues.

Green Valley is a special place and coming home is always good. My wife and I have lived here for eleven years and cherish this time in our lives. On our walks we look to the surrounding hills and reflect on the Atlas Fire last October. This event rocked our valley! The professional and community response was overwhelming. Some of our neighbors at the top of Green Valley toward Twin Sisters lost their homes and ranch structures and they are still recovering.  If you ever valued how special Green Valley really is, coming home after a six-day evacuation and uncertainty and being greeted by friends and neighbors made it sink in deep. This is truly a “hidden gem” and worth making better…

There are pressures for Green Valley to change.  There is a never-ending search for regional water solutions, developments planned for Middle Green Valley, the potential sale of Falls School site and impacts on the Fire Station location and the opening of Rockville Trails Preserve for expanded recreation opportunities.  GVLA is committed to being involved in these and other issues for the betterment of the community.  Thank you for your support!
